Follow The Star Canceled Tonight

by Al Quartemont

Due to snowy conditions in Central Louisiana

Due to the quickly deteriorating weather conditions, Louisiana College has canceled the Friday activities for Follow The Star.

The announcement to the campus came via an email from LC President, Dr. Joe Aguillard who thanked the campus faculty, staff and students who had worked hard to make the event happen.

The cancellation leaves only one more night of Follow The Star with Saturday's "Christmas Letters From War" set for 6 p.m. in Guinn Auditorium. Admission to the dramatic presentation is free.

Follow The Star is LC's Christmas gift to the community - a three-day celebration which began Thursday. The official lighting of the campus happened at 6 p.m. under Dr. Aguillard. Several hundred people had the chance to tour the various displays around campus, hear live performances by area church choirs, and enjoy hot chocolate.

Thursday morning, on KALB's Jambalaya, LC instructor, Scot Loyd, and students Mandy Williams, Nicole Williams, and Kameryn Lueng made an appearance to promote the weekend's events.

Remaining Schedule:

Saturday, December 5th

*6 p.m. - "Christmas Letters from War" - This production, written by LC's own Dr. Pete Richardson, uses drama and music to tell a story of one family and their hope to see their son come home from war in time for Christmas. Actual letters from war will be inter-woven into this heart-warming story that highlights different wartime years in American History.
