Lady Cats get big game from Givens to win season opener

by Al Quartemont

Junior scores 27 points to lead LC

The Lady Cats started their season on a great note Thursday night, defeating William Carey 79-67 at home thanks to a 27-point performance by junior post player Tillisha Givens, the preseason player of the year in the ASC East.
Givens was 12-for-15 from the floor and pulled down seven rebounds for Louisiana College, which improved to 1-0 on the young season.

Also helping the Lady Cats’ cause were Voneshia Williams and Joanna Tate, who scored 15 and 12 points respectively.
Junior Christy Pantallion added eight points in the win.

LC returns to action Saturday, Nov. 28 when the Lady Cats face McMurry in the first of a women's/men's doubleheader. Tip-off from the women's game is 1 p.m.
