Hooton Foundation working to educate

On Tuesday night, Louisiana College student athletes had their annual NCAA meeting to talk about rules and regulations and to inform the athletes on issues they may face that are legal and illegal.

The Wildcats received a speech on steroids and the dangers of performance enhancing supplements from Donald Hooton of the Taylor Hooton Foundation. Donald's father started the foundation after his son and Donald's brother, Taylor, took steroids in high school and later took his own life.

The Taylor Hooton Foundation receives great support from the NCAA and Major League Baseball including teams like the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers.

The athletes were made aware of the growing number of high school students that have begun taking steroids, the effects that steroids have on the body and the negative side effects as well.
