LC’s “Voices” perform at 2009 YEC

by Al Quartemont

Youth event held at the Rapides Parish Coliseum in Alexandria.

The "Voices of Louisiana College" were busy during the Thanksgiving break, performing at the 2009 YEC hosted by the Youth Ministry Team of the Louisiana Baptist Convention.

The three-day event ran Nov. 22-24 at the Rapides Parish Coliseum in Alexandria. "Voices" performed several of their favorite songs before a gathering of several thousand teens from various Baptist churches across Louisiana.

This year's YEC also featured speaker Ed Newton, worship leader Matt Papa, and a final-day concert by popular Christian rock band, Hawk Nelson.

The conference also made news by announcing 2009 would be its final year at the Rapides Coliseum as next year's conference will be held in Lafayette instead. That move made local news in both the Alexandria Town Talk and on KALB, News Channel 5.
