The right side of The Cross

by Al Quartemont

Dr. Aguillard challenges students at semester's first chapel service.

Which side of the cross are you on?

That was the challenge laid down by LC President, Dr. Joe Aguillard, at Thursday's first chapel service of the 2010 fall semester.

In building his message from Luke 23:39-43, Dr. Aguillard cited the story of the two thieves who were crucified along with Jesus Christ - how one was about to enter into everlasting life and the other into everlasting punishment.

"One man died on the right side of Jesus, the other on the wrong side," Dr. Aguillard said. "When you die, the only question that will matter is what side are you on? One man died for sin, the other in sin and the other to sin."

The chapel service also included the various talents from LC's music department. The Voices of Louisiana College began the service with their always-spirited performance, while the LC Chorale also performed under the direction of Dr. Fred Guilbert.
