Much like the Alice Cooper song, school’s out!
So it’s time to enjoy summer break with no classes, no professors, no papers, and no tests.
In a world which secular pastimes are so widely encouraged, let’s take a look at things that you can do this summer which are considered “LC appropriate.”
Movies – whether it be going out to the theaters, renting a movie, or Netflix, watching movies is always a good time with some friends. This summer is expected to be a big box office summer with numerous expected hit movies expected to be released.
A day outdoors – spend the day outdoors with a group of friends or your family. Fishing, picnicking, swimming, or even just playing outdoor games is always a good and healthy way to spend a summer day. Even go on a camping trip!
Take a road trip – spontaneous road trips are always fun with your friends. Go on a trip to Blue Bayou or even just to visit a friend. Nothing too extensive but a short road trip with the right people can be such a blast!
Go to the beach – find a beach and lay in the sunshine for a little while. Get a suntan, go swimming, build sand castles, just have fun! It’s always nice to spend a day at the beach with your friends. Bring lunch, sodas, and snacks and spend the day basking in the sunlight. But don’t forget the sunblock!
Go to the zoo – even though that is something that a lot of people say college students are too old for, embrace your inner child (because I know for most of us, it’s not that hard!) Spending time at the zoo can fill someone up with a child-like joy which is really refreshing to have, especially after a rough semester!
There are so many other things to do too! Don’t be afraid to road trip somewhere and spend the day there doing one of these things. Ultimately, have fun this summer. Just spend time with the people you care about and you are sure to have a memorable summer.
